Crazy girl with the flower in her hair

This morning as I walked into my mother's bedroom, she glanced at me then immediately broke into laughter. I couldn't understand what was so funny. She said I reminded her of the girl from 웰컴투 동막골 (Welcome to Dongmakgol). Apparently this movie is about a crazy, village girl who wears a flower in her hair. She's known as a joke in her village because of her strange personality. She ends up seducing a man in the military, gets knocked up, then the boyfriend commits suicide. Actually don't take my word for it, my mom was trying to explain the story but I may have misunderstood. I'm pretty curious about the movie though, so I may watch it sometime on mysoju.com.

Maybe I am slightly crazy.

I've been meaning to update my blog for the past couple of days, but I got side tracked by studying.. sorta. I went on a mini shopping spree right after two of my finals. I hit up Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Claire's, and yes the DOLLAR STORE! I'm actually not a huge fan of Claire's though. Their items come off being too juvenile, but I couldn't help myself when I saw flowers all over their store. I've been obsessed with flowers lately. Flower decor, flower hair pins, flower tattoos, etc. I definitely noticed that flowers are being used more in fashion too.

I was in dire need of a shimmer lotion and the only one I could find was Very Sexy Now from Victoria's Secret. I actually really like it, it smells nice too :). Also, here are the many hair flower pins I found at Claire's, along with the random glasses and headband.

I just wish that a special someone could give me some REAL flowers ;)

I got some Hibiscus wall art from the Dollar Store, which I just placed randomly around my room. I also bought Orchids to spread around the apartment.

Thank you Wendy for making me buy that Soothing Ocean Sounds CD LOL!

Have you seen those silly TV infomercials about "Smooth Away"? I've always been curious about that product but never wanted to buy the real deal. I saw a knock off version at the Dollar Store and figured why not! Surprisingly.. it actually works. It makes your legs really dry after use, but once you moisturize, your skin feels so smooth! Beware, it does feel like sand paper. If you have easily irritated skin, I don't recommend this product.

That completes my list of shopping items. I have to get back to studying now, but once I'm done with finals, I'll be back to blog about my trip to France. Can't wait :)

BIT this, BIT that!

I just got done with a huge BIT presentation and final today, I am so relieved now!! At around 5 am, I said "FML" and went to bed. I just knew today was going to suck. Odd enough though.. I woke up in a really good mood! Plus I found out this morning that my presentation wasn't business professional OR business casual, it was just casual! I was very glad that I didn't have to walk around campus in my one-size-too-small high heels. To add on to the positives, I had enough time this morning to do my hair and makeup. I'm typically a bum when it comes to going to class, but today I decided to do a Zooey Deschanel look:

I did a side braid in my hair, cut my bangs, and wore turquoise eyeshadow to match my scarf.

 You can't really see my eyeshadow because the quality of my webcam is terrible :(

I don't understand the social media hype. For some reason.. I just can't get into it! It's really ironic that I'm not into that technology, since I'm young and an information technology major. I love computers to death, but I hate relying on it for communication purposes. I'd rather go see someone in person than chat with them online. That explains why I do not respond quickly online!

But anyway, I would like to announce that I have deleted my Tumblr and I am considering deleting my Twitter. I was about to delete MySpace, Xanga, and LiveJournal, but there are just way too many memories on there :). I really do love blogs too. This is why I am now writing this! Instead of updating the world on every little thing I am doing every hour of the day.. I will write out my feelings in a long, descriptive blog post.

So what has been going on in my life lately? Well.... I've been having a rough semester. I always knew college would be difficult, but I never knew what other struggles I'd have to deal with. Let's just say that I got myself into a stupid situation recently. This situation made me realize I need to get my act together and stop wasting time/money. My parents are paying for my education and I appreciate it so much. I'm so grateful for that, and I need to start showing it in my grades and actions. I was so foolish to even think that I could get away with what I've been doing. I'm so disappointed in myself.. I really do hope that this incident motivates me to work harder next year and cause me to have that drive I had before college. I was happier when I had drive and determination.

I'm actually home right now, and it's been a nice getaway so far. While I was driving home, I couldn't stop thinking about how miserable last week was. My parents told me how much they support and love me though, and it makes me feel so blessed. On Friday we went out to eat then went shopping together. I don't get to see my parents that often, so I cherish every moment I have with them.

But yeah, the point of this blog post was so I could talk about makeup, not rant about my feelings. I bought this tinted moisturizer from Pixi, and I think I have a new favorite! I also bought the Zeno Hot Spot, I haven't tried it yet, so I'll write about that later. I actually wanted to post up favorites, thanks to endless nights of YouTube reviews and WENDY NGUYEN!!

This is a new product that I recently tried and fell in love with. It's a bit pricey for Target ($30) but it's totally worth it. It's a concealer and tinted moisturizer duo, which is great for when you're on the go!

Foundation:

BareMinerals SPF15 Foundation
Wendy recommended this to me, and it's the most amazing foundation I've ever used. It seriously does make your skin look flawless AND helps acne prone skin. I used to have many skin problems before, but after using this, my skin has improved so much! Just make sure to use a concealer beforehand if you're trying to cover up big blemishes.

Finishing Powder:

BareMinerals Mineral Veil

This product helps with oil/shine and keeps the mineral foundation from fading throughout the day.

Mascara:

L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara
This mascara works wonders for any type of lashes.

Liquid Eyeliner:

Etude House Oh My Eye Line
I actually ran out of this product recently and it's only sold in South Korea. I have yet to find another liquid eyeliner similar to it ;(.

Pencil Eyeliner:

CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner

I'm not a big fan of pencil liners, but this is the best I've tried so far. It's easy to apply and it doesn't smudge throughout the day.

Blush & Bronzer:

NARS Blush Bronzer Duo in Orgasm and Laguna

Eyeshadow:

The multiple can be used for eyes, cheeks, and lips. It's great for traveling and when you're in a hurry. They're all so pretty :).
